The economy of Brawl Stars has changed a whole lot as we go into 2026, and the Brawl Pass Plus sits at the centre of that shift. Introduced six years ago, the Brawl Pass has been a noteworthy in-game system that lets players garner rewards through Brawl Pass seasons in a progressive manner. This progression system allowed players to unlock tiers containing in-game currencies like Gems and Credits, along with Mega Boxes and Resource Keys.
Brawl Pass Plus is an upgraded, premium version of the Brawl Pass, but after such a steep price adjustment, is it still worth it?
What Changed with Brawl Pass Plus?
Earlier this month, when Brawl Stars’ Season 46 finally came out, players saw a really major change in the pricing and structure of the Passes. Alongside the rollout of the latest power system, Buffies, the price of the Brawl Stars passes was increased as well. The Brawl Pass Plus went from 9.99 U.S. Dollars to 12.99 U.S. Dollars
This sharp increase in prices sent the entire Brawl Stars community on the internet into a frenzy. Reddit, amongst other social media platforms, saw a whole lot of debate about these seemingly “absurd” price changes. In overseas countries, the price of the Brawl Pass Plus faced an increase of 90%, and in some cases, was even doubled.
The Brawl Pass Plus always had a few extra rewards compared to the Standard Pass, but with January’s update, the Plus Pass track also includes an additional:
- Skin Key
- Resource Key
- Brawler Key
- Buffie Key
The rewards also doubled from 50 Gems to 100 Gems. However, the Title and 2 exclusive Chroma skins were eliminated from the track.
What You Actually Get for the Price
From a purely progressive point-of-view, the Plus Pass offers more control now than ever before. The main advantage of buying this Pass after January’s update is that you will get a whole lot more Keys than before. What is even better is that they now let you decide what to unlock.
This system offers a more flexible progression for players who are focused on specific things, like unlocking Buffies, targeting specific Skins, or upgrading their favourite Brawlers. Receiving the extra Gems does not hurt either; it offsets the higher cost of the Pass.
This price increase does allow for stronger progression, but unfortunately, that alone is not enough for all players, especially those who value having currency long-term over short-term Resources. Losing the Chroma Skins was another hit taken by long-term players as it reduced the sense of owning something unique.
Conclusion
All in all, if you enjoy faster progression and exclusive rewards and titles, the Brawl Stars Pass Plus might be a worthwhile purchase for you. This Pass delivers value if you play consistently with a goal in mind. The added Keys and higher Gem count would really work out well for you.
On the other hand, if you are a casual player or only care about cosmetics, buying the Plus Pass would just be a costly purchase that you may not even need. So choose wisely and do your research before you decide to invest in this Pass.
