In our last article we discussed non Link Ability Pokémon cards you can use from Triumphant Light. And even though we’ve done 4 articles on this card set already, we still aren’t finished! There are some other cards we like that we missed in our last article. So we’ll look at some more cards from this set and explain how you can use them in Battles!
Glaceon EX:

This is a Water Type Pokémon and the first of 2 EX Pokémon that we’ll look at in this article. As discussed in our last article, we’ve done a series on Eeveelutions. So if you want more info on all the various Eeveelutions read that too! But for this Pokémon, it deals 90 damage for 3 Energy which is powerful for a Stage 1 Pokémon! And if it’s in the Active Zone this Pokémon gets even better! Glaceon EX can deal 10 extra damage at the end of each players’ turn if it’s in the Active Spot! And with 140 HP and a retreat cost of 1, this is a safe Pokémon to have up front! Since it’s Water Type, you can also build up Energy Generation very quickly if need be. You can use Misty to obtain lots of Water Energy on a turn if you’re lucky. And if you have Vaporeon (Mythical Island) you can transfer Water Energy from the Bench!
Toxicroak:

This is a Dark Type Pokémon and is the only Pokémon in this article to focus on Status Effects. When you look at this Pokémon, at first you might not think it’s anything special. It has an attack but it doesn’t deal any damage whatsoever! It also only has 100 HP which can leave it vulnerable to more powerful Pokémon. However, its Attack is a lot more devastating than you’d think. For 1 Energy you can Poison your opponent’s Active Pokémon. And instead of dealing 10 damage, Poison deals 20 damage to your opponent! This effect will last until it’s cured or your opponent switches Pokémon. However, you can deal some serious damage if you have Nihilego on your Bench! Nihilego ups the damage from Poison by 10, meaning that you can setup 40 damage per turn! If you’re against 1 Pokémon decks, this can deal some massive extra damage!
Probopass EX:

This is a Metal Type Pokémon and is the second EX Pokémon featured in this article. There are some immediate pros and cons with this Pokémon at first glance. At 160 HP it has the highest health stat out of all the Pokémon in this article! But it also has a high retreat cost at 3 Energy. But if you’re able to setup your attack this can be a good Pokémon in the front! It deals 90 damage for 3 Energy and once used it takes 20 less damage next turn! And similarly to Glaceon EX, Metal Type Pokémon can generate lots of Energy! However, you need to have the right strategy to make it work. The easiest method is using Dialga EX to attach 2 Energy to Probopass EX that turn. And if you want even more HP, you can attach an Elegant Cape Tool for an extra 30 HP!
Giratina:

This is a Dragon Type Pokémon and the only Dragon Type in the entire Triumphant Light card set! Like with most Dragon Types however, its attack requires multiple Energy Types. In this instance, you need 3 Energy to attack, including one Grass and one Psychic Energy. And even when you use this Pokémon’s attack, you discard 2 random Energy. This can usually make it a frustrating attack to use, even though it deals 120 damage! However, a couple of newer cards introduced can help with this! You can use Rainbow Cave to discard Energy that you don’t need in that moment. And you can use Dragonair to get that Energy back and attach it to Giratina! If you can get this setup properly, you can regularly deal 120 damage per turn! You may need some extra health though so come with plenty of Potions and a Giant Cape. Also be careful about the Rainbow Cave since only one Stadium can be on the Field at a time!
Triumphant Light is a specialised card set with plenty of useful cards outside its main mechanic. There may be more cards we’ve missed aside from these ones! So we recommend you look through this set and see which cards work best for you!
